River Legacy Nature School provides an environment that encourages
a childs inborn sense of wonder to flourish through
indoor activities at the Living Science Center and outdoor
exploration.
The Living Science Center looks out over a forested park,
allowing children to watch classroom lessons
come to life. Students
watch the leaves change colors as they discuss the hows
and whys of the changing seasons, or observe a squirrel
storing acorns while learning how animals prepare for winter.
Every Nature School session includes a trip into the woods,
weather permitting. Through exploration of the environment
and its creatures, children learn not only about nature, but
also about their place in it.
Classes for children ages 3 to 5 meet in the Living Science Center, located in River
Legacy Parks for 30 weeks, September through May.
