Junior Naturalist Club
River Legacy Living Science Centers Junior Naturalist Club provides
a firsthand opportunity for 4th, 5th and 6th grade students to experience
the everyday workings and duties of a naturalist. During the year, Junior
Naturalists will learn to use GPS/GIS technology to survey the plants and
animals of River Legacy Parks, create displays and exhibits at the Living
Science Center, conduct water investigations, identify wildflowers and increase
their knowledge and appreciation for the natural world.
The club meets once a month from 4:15 to 6:15 p.m. at the Living Science
Center, September through May. Club 1 meets the second Tuesday of each month and Club 2 meets the third Tuesday of each month. All members receive a membership card which
entitles them to free admission to After Dark in the Park and Cardboard
Boat Regatta.
The membership fee is $125. Membership is limited to 20 students per club
and is available on a
first-come, first-served basis. Transportation must
be provided by a parent or guardian.
