Bobcat at Creek

During our Eco Detectives After School Program (2nd/3rd grade) last night, we spotted a bobcat walking across the trail, heading for the creek.  It then walked along the creek (near the pedestrian bridge and the Margaret St. entrance).  We watched with binoculars as it followed the creek below Green Oaks Blvd.

I saw at least 4 yesterday while biking on the trail. Looked like mom and 3-4 kittens playing along the trail somewhere between mile marker 4-5. Mom was in protective mode and didn't like me stopping to watch the others. I passed her going the other direction earlier and she didn't give me a second thought!

while riding bike through park today, saw 5 bobcats. one was a scrawny, tall, rough looking cat heading east before the 157 bridge, while the others were one female with 3 kittens. they were between the 4 and 5 mile markers and on the path. i passed them twice. the second time i had to whistle and let them know i was coming. the kittens went to the east side of the path and momma stayed on the path and watched me pass. was the most sightings i've seen so far and there were several people on the path today. the time of day was about 11 am.

We saw a bobcat with a dead mouse walking down the trail by the 7 mile mark yesterday around 6p.m. 2 Week before this, in the same area a bobcat trotted along side us on the trail as we were jogging in the morning. We gradually slowed down, and the bobcat crossed the path into the brush.
