Six Flags Hurricane Harbor
Just
when you think you’ve seen
it all!
The Cardboard Boat Regatta challenges amateur boat builders
to design, build and navigate boats made entirely of corrugated
cardboard. Come and enjoy the fun as you watch the masterful
maneuvers of boats braving the waves at Six
Flags Hurricane Harbor. In addition to hosting the competition,
the region's largest water park opens two of its most popular
attractions for guests to enjoy, Hook's Lagoon and the Tornado.
Don’t have time to design and build a boat ahead of
time but you would like to race? Try your luck with the Class
III build-on-site boats! You and your crew will be given
two hours to build a boat using 3 pieces of cardboard, 2
rolls
of duct tape, 2 sheets of plastic, a box cutter, a pencil
and yardstick. You bring your crew and we’ll provide
the supplies! Class III boats will race in the wave pool
and the winning team will receive a trophy.
Other exciting
activities offered that day include face painting, bounce
house, Mini-Boat Regatta, games, drawing contest, bubble
play and much more. During the Mini-Boat Regatta, children
ages 4 to 12 pay a $5 entry fee to race a small pinewood
sailboat along a rain gutter by blowing into the sail. Also,
don’t
forget to purchase miniature rubber whales and cheer them
on to victory as they sail down the Lazy River during the
Regatta. The more you sail, the better your chances of winning
great prizes!
Participate in the new
Regatta Corporate Challenge where companies compete in boat
races, volleyball and tug-of-war to win great awards!
In case of rain cancellation, please consider your registration
fee and/or advance ticket purchase a donation.
